Challenges and opportunities of decarbonization for the economic recovery: The question of directionality in innovation policies
Nuno Bento presented preliminary results of the ongoing research in the Sus2Trans project at the Conference celebrating the 40th year of DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte "Between Transitions: Retrospectives, Transversalities and Perspectives", hold in June 1 and 2, 2021.The presentation was about the strategies of decarbonization and economic recovery and was entitled "Challenges and opportunities of decarbonization for the economic recovery: The question of directionality in innovation policies".
The presentation raised the question “What conditions the direction of innovation should comply with to grasp the opportunities of decarbonization in the recovery of the economy from the worst pandemic in a century?”. It addressed this question along three main themes: 1) transformative change and sustainability transition; 2) assessing transformative green change; 3) the conditions for directing innovation policies.
The team will also bring this presentation to the 12th Conference “International Sustainability Transitions” (IST) 2021. The event will take place online between October 5 and 8, 2021. This conference address topics related to sustainability transitions in organizations, industries, individuals and institutions, as well as theoretical and methodological aspects.
